Closed on New Year's Day afternoon, we must be satisfied with the appearance. The building was built in 1857, when it was a Stow Congregational Church. The design was an early British Gothic style, and the quality of the stone carvings just right showed the extraordinary skills of the masons. The front porch and windows were particularly impressive. Four arches supported on pillars and decorated with white stone carvings of grains, fruits and small animals. I think the arched windows with stone vertical frames and plaid works on them are even more impressive. The building was built from bluestone and limestone.
