The Antu Man Site is located in Shimen Mountain on the bank of the Burhatong River, south of Mingyue Town, Antu County. In 1963, workers at a lime factory discovered the "Antu Man" cave while quarrying. In May 1964, a fossil of an ancient human tooth was found in the cave. Archaeologists named it "Antu Man" and it belongs to the late Homo sapiens. Judging from the fossils unearthed in the cave, the animal resources in the area were very rich at that time. The Antu Man Site is the only ancient human site discovered in the Changbai Mountain area.
