Cathedrale de la Major

Marseille Cathedral- is a Roman Catholic cathedral and national monument of France. It is the only cathedral built in France in the 19th century. Built in a Byzantine style, it is one of the largest churches in France. It was built over 40 years, between 1852 and 1893. The Cathedral of La Major is actually made up of two churches- old and new Major. design is combination of Roman and Oriental styles. One of the must to visit places in Marseille.

As the cathedral of Marseille, the church is large in size and is an important feature of Byzantine style. It is currently under renovation, and the two towers on the front are wrapped in cloth and the rest are basically completed. The interior is open normally, it seems that it has not been repaired, maintain the original appearance, tourists can visit for free, and take pictures. The traffic nearby is not very convenient, at least ten minutes walk from the subway station.

The church is designed with a distinctive white marble and Florence green rock, and the whole church is shaped like a zebra.
