Additional Information

Introduction

The Brussels City Hall is a striking Gothic-style building among the many buildings on the Grand Place in Brussels, a landmark of Brussels. The building was built in two phases. The larger left half was built in 1402. When the right half was built in 1455, the tower and the minaret were built by PhilipeleBon. There is a wind vane at the tip of the spire, which is the statue of the guardian sacred Michel of Brussels. Legend has it that the lords of Brussels were spared from the rescue of Saint Michel, and the lord awarded Saint Michel the title of "Palace of Brussels".
