This dirt road mountain pass is doable by normal sedan (when it is dry). A great alternative to the N7 if you are not in a hurry. Expect hairpin bends and steep gradients. It offers spectacular views.
The road or pass between Citrusdal and Ceres is filled with breathtaking scenery and although part of the road is dirt, it is comfortable taken in a car and a 4x4 is not needed.
If you want to avoid the N7 and are not in a great hurry, this route is a panoramic alternative. There are only 30 kms of gravel but some tricky hairpins at the summit.

A pleasant drive not many flowers
Could have done without this drive, disappointing and valuable time consumed. The time would have been better spent visiting other places in the area.
