Taiping Granary

In the middle of Taiping Old Street, the name is "Ganyisheng Grain Store", perhaps the name of the street, perhaps the meaning of Taiping, on the tall door, the inscription is "Taiping Grain Basket". According to reports, the granary was a self-storage self-operated grain stack, which can accommodate up to more than 100,000 stone grains. The original owner Zhu Changlin, or the great-uncle grandfather of Premier Zhu Rongji, is the biggest feature of the building. The front is a gray facade of more than three floors, which is both Western and Changsha local style. Now it has been activated as a specialty store, but it feels too commercial to want to go in.

Taiping Grain Store, formerly known as Ganyisheng Grain Store, was originally opened in Xianfeng by Zhu Changlin, a wealthy businessman in Changsha at the end of Qing Dynasty (formerly Premier Zhu Rongji's great-grandfather), and this is the site. Taiping granary is a Chinese and Western building, its facade shape uses the modern Western architectural techniques, and the gable wall practice has obvious local characteristics of Changsha, has been listed in Changsha City "immovable cultural relics" list. Taiping granary has historically been a place for grain storage. Now its symbols have surpassed the building itself, symbolizing the gathering and flow of culture. It has been opened as an ancient building site dedicated to providing cultural and artistic exhibitions and cultural art salons. It mainly displays and sells the works of local Hunan artists. And to provide the general public and tourists with taste "old craftsmanship, old folk customs, old Changsha" cultural experience platform, has become an important cultural window of Taiping Old Street to integrate cultural display, tourism, and artistic consumption.
