Museo de las Américas

Very interesting building with huge courtyard and museum on the second floor. When we visited, only three of the museum’s exhibits were open; one of them showed modern art and was interesting! Worth coming over

The three-story building, which was built by the Spanish army in 1854 on three acres of land and can accommodate more than 1,000 soldiers and their families, is one of the largest and most impressive buildings built by the Spanish royal family in the Americas. Its interior courtyard is large (not to be missed!) and it is one of the best examples of 19th century Spanish architecture, with some nice cafes and shops around. The second floor is the Museum of the Americas of Las Americas, with three permanent collections, focusing on African heritage, Native American and American popular art; in addition, the museum hosts an annual temporary art exhibition.

The architecture of the Latin American museum is particularly beautiful and looks very attractive from the outside because its architectural style is very delicate and unique, and it is completely different from our Asian style. But after entering, in addition to feeling good, the collection items inside are very general, but overall it is not bad.

Just on the edge of the fortress site, there is a large lawn next to it, the waves in front of the reef, the scenery is beautiful. Because I didn't know Spanish, I didn't go in to see it.

The Latin American Museum can learn about the history and culture of Puerto Rico's Latin American community, and play a major role in the country's contribution and development.
