Get out of the city heat and head to the mountains
Excellent mountain food in typical refuge surroundings . The views and walks are spectacular. Added advantage of cable car for those who don't feel as athletic.
Beautiful lake with friendly Refugio
The lake itself is an attractive and popular spot but there also many fine walks through the woods and up along the tops of the Apennine ridge with excellent views in all directions.
