Mingyuan Bridge

Mingyuan Bridge is located in Fengjian Township, Xingtan Town. According to Shunde County Records, the bridge was built by Li Shixiu in Song Dynasty. This is one of the Shunde beam-type three-hole stone arch bridges that is recorded earlier in the literature. Due to the reconstruction of the current generation, it is difficult to find the style of the Song Dynasty, and only the style of the Ming Dynasty remains. Historical records: Li Shixiu, courtesy name Jianye, was born in Fengjian, Xingtan Town, and was a scholar of the Qing Dynasty (1199) in the Song Dynasty. seat, convenient for pedestrians. The bridge is a beam-type three-hole stone arch bridge, constructed of red sandstone. The total length is 24.8 meters, the top width is 4.7 meters, and the height is 4.5 meters. The bridge arches are built in vertical connection, and the bridge balustrades are engraved with various patterns. There are fourteen pillars on both sides, and one stone lion is carved on the capital of the pillar. Now there are only ten of them. The ramps on both sides of the bridge are not masonry, and the pedestrians are like going up and down the slope. Standing on the bridge and looking left and right, on both sides of the wide river, the neat stone walls are close to the river wall. On the banana groves and sugarcane fields, the foundations of the old shops are vaguely recognizable, which outlines a prosperous ancient water town market scene for us.
