Mo Yan's former residence was in Huaifang, built in 1912, renovated once in 1966, from 1955 to 1976, Mo Yan lived here for about 22 years from birth to departure from the army, and later during the military, returned to the countryside to visit relatives, but also lived intermittently. In 1988, Mo Yan bought a house in Gaomi County (now Gaomi City), and moved out of the old house with his wife Du Qinlan and only daughter Guan Xiaoxiao. In 1990, Mo Yan's parents also moved from here to the old house of Mo Yan's second brother Guan Yuxin, which has been idle since.

We drove to visit Mo Yan's old residence, located in Ping'anzhuang Village, Gaomi City, Weifang, and saw the archway at the head of the village from afar.
