Unexpectedly, in Penang, Malaysia, in a foreign country, you can also encounter Mr. Sun Yat-sen's Penang Base Memorial Hall. Here is a record of Mr. Zhongshan's experience in exile here. It is very meaningful and worth visiting!
Incredibly special museumI must admit, I didn''t know who Sun Yat Sen was before walking into this special museum. I had know idea he was a leader of the Chinese Revolution or that he lived in Malaysia. After visiting this Museum, I understood so much more of Malaysian and Chinese history. The gentleman that is the docent was filled with anecdotes. He was a terrific storyteller. Even if Sun Yat Sen wasn''t as significant to the world as he was, just seeing this well preserved home told so much about the area''s development and growth.
Sun Yat-sen lives in a place in Penang, and his exile life here is also a very important experience for Sun Yat-sen. The memorial halls are quite interesting. They are all very classical buildings and retain the original layout. Sun Yat-sen is also very famous here.
Some local overseas Chinese have treasured the story of Mr. Sun, although the memorial is small, but contains a lot of memorial charm.
In the early 20th century, Sun Yat-sen came to Penang many times to launch an uprising. The Reading Newspaper Office, located at No. 65 Middle Road in George City Center, is one of the important places where he frequently stays. Dr. Sun Yat-sen discussed in Penang that the historical building that launched the revolutionary movement will be changed to "Sun Yat-sen Museum"
The Sun Yat-sen Penang Base Memorial Hall is near the Mural Street. The facade is small and there is no obvious sign outside, making it difficult to find. The entrance fee is 5 ringgits. Here, there are many historical materials that Mr. Zhongshan is preparing to launch a revolution here. Many furniture and daily necessities exude historical traces. Very valuable.
