Beautiful museum in district 1, you can walk around for hours looking at all the beautiful art. 20 000VND entrance fee and there’s 3 buildings full of art. There is also some cool places to take photos at this museum. This place is definitely a MUST VISIT when you’re in Ho Chi Minh City and like art. There’s some restaurants and shops around the museum as well where you can walk around.

Day 2: Breakfast - Tan Dinh Church - Book Street - Lunch - Museum of Fine Arts - Café Apartment - Dinner 1️⃣ For breakfast, I had pho at a restaurant near the hotel. It seems that you can't go wrong with pho at any random restaurant in Vietnam. 2️⃣ Then, I visited Tan Dinh Church, which is known for its pink color and is perfect for taking photos. 3️⃣ Then, I strolled through Book Street, where there are many books, and if you're willing to explore, you can discover some interesting reads. 4️⃣ Lunch was at Quan94. Address: Quán 94 - Đặc Sản Cua Biển Hochiminh, VN. 5️⃣ After lunch, I visited the Museum of Fine Arts. The museum's interior and exterior are characterized by soft yellow and light green hues, which look exceptionally gentle in the sunlight. The museum features numerous sculptures and paintings, but I found the colonial-era architecture of the building itself to be the most impressive exhibit. From the design of the long corridors to the extension of the stairs, every aspect of the building is a work of art. 6️⃣ After exploring the museum, I went to Café Apartment. This building was originally constructed in the mid-20th century and used to be housing and office space for the American military. The building has ten floors, with the bottom two occupied by various shops, and the upper eight floors house a diverse range of coffee shops, numbering over 50 in total. I chose an interesting little café to sit in, and when night fell, the Café Apartment's illuminated interiors added to the atmosphere. Each balcony emitted warm-colored light. 7️⃣ For dinner, I went to ANAN for French cuisine. I ordered Foie Gras Imperial Roll, Banh Xeo Tacos, Chicken Banana Blossom, Saigon Shaking Beef, Crab Fried Rice, Banana Spring Roll, and Broken Lime. The museum felt like a journey back to 20th-century France, evoking a sense of romantic nostalgia. When I was researching spots to visit in Ho Chi Minh City, I came across this museum; and the reviews about this place are all saying how the architecture is way more worth seeing than the arts, which is kind of true in my experience … haha As you can see from the pictures, the building itself is magnificent, the exterior is painted in a pastel yellow which gives a very french colonial vibe. However, as for the museum itself, be warned, there is only AC is some specific rooms so it is very hot and humid inside. And I feel like there is a lack of cohesion between the arts and the museum does not provide sufficient descriptions to explain the art pieces… Despite what I have just said, I would recommend u to visit this museum if you have never been before. It is located conveniently nearby Ben Thanh Market in 97A Pho Duc Chinh, District 1, HCMC, and is open daily from 0800-1700. This yellow-white colonial-era mansion is inspired by both French and Asian styles, which creates a typical ambiance through its marble floors throughout and the spacious, airy rooms. The mansion impresses visitors with French-styled balconies, long corridors, doors with arched styled to get wind, natural light, 99 doors with different architectural styles. From the main gate, one luxury remaining treasure is the first elevator to be assembled in Saigon, where the cabin was crafted by wood and sculpted as a royal palanquin. Classic spiral staircases at the third building must not be missed when you come to visit, it is very nice. Next year i wish to travel to Iceland.
