What people are saying:

I accidentally discovered this beautiful small temple in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. This temple is very lively and full of people, and it is very busy at six in the evening. Many people pray here and take care of the temple. As outsiders, we don't feel unwelcome at all. There are toilets available in the temple and they are very clean. There are many beautiful Hindu statues on the temple walls. Although the outdoor pagoda is not big, it is definitely worth seeing. The temple is a bit boring and it feels very disappointing. It's really not worth the time, because Ho Chi Minh City has many other more famous attractions to visit. But if you are a local, you don't need a ticket, and it only takes a few minutes to see the whole temple inside and out.

Additional Information

Introduction

Mariamman Hindu Temple is located near the Reunification Palace. Built in the 19th century by traders from India, the temple plays a key role in Saigon’s Hindu community. The colorful temple is decorated with many different statues to various gods and goddesses important to the Hindu faithful. The ornate decorations are quite interesting and provide a strong contrast with the surrounding buildings. Certainly if you are in central Saigon, this is an attraction worth visiting.
