What travelers say:

The first thing worth noting about this museum is its architecture. It Jianyu. In 928, it was a national historic building. However, this museum contains the art of contemporary Hawaiian artists. In the open gallery, art works are displayed decently, as well as detailed descriptions of works and artists. This is very good. When we visited the museum, there were also some award-winning works of high school students on display. The talent displayed by these students is amazing. One is not displayed. In its place, there is a note stating that this work has been sent to New York for the national exhibition. The tour may take an hour or two, but it is worth it. The cafe on the first floor of the museum is first class. Finally arrived early, there is a parking lot in the Iolani Palace. This is a way to the museum.

Additional Information

The amazing climate in Hawaii is growing more than just pineapples. The islands are home to a vibrant artistic scene that creates various works, most of which focus on capturing the natural beauty that is so abundant here. Supported by the Hawai'i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, this expansive facility is home to three galleries, a cafe, and of course a gift shop. The works here range from historic examples of ancient Hawaiian art, to more contemporary pieces. Fans of the arts will find this facility up there with the Bishop Museum and the Honolulu Academy of Arts on the list of top artistic hot-spots on the islands. If you are interested, this well laid out and accommodating location is certainly worth spending some time out of the sun for.
