What travelers say:

The Chaojing Gate of Huizhou is said to have been restored and reconstructed in 2006 in the same way as the North Gate of Huizhou in the Ming Dynasty. The original building no longer exists, but the ancient city wall of Huizhou in the Ming Dynasty is still there. Known as "Huizhou Tianmo", the ancient city of Huizhou was once praised by military strategists as the Dongjiang Fortress because of its 7 fortified gates. The overall building is very magnificent. It is quite helpful to understand the history of Huizhou.

Additional Information

Chaojingmen is located on Huancheng West Road in Huicheng District, Huizhou City. It is one of the seven ancient gates of Huizhou Ancient City. Chaojingmen was built in the third year of the reign of the Ming Emperor Hongwu. It is an imitation ancient city wall intended to dam floodwaters, with the floodgates built as an imitation ancient gate tower. Later, the seven gates were all destroyed in the chaos of war. On July 3, 2006, Chaojingmen was rebuilt according to the original appearance of Huizhou's north city gate during the Ming dynasty, so that later generations could see this historic ancient building.
