There is a well surrounded by wooden fences. It's quite confusing because it's in a complicated place. This well must have been very important because Horinji is also known as "Mitsuiji".

This name is named after Prince Shotoku built three wells in this place.

You can still see Akasomei made by Prince in the west of Horinji Temple. The other two wells (Maesaii and Higashii) are absorbed by private houses and cannot be seen. From the south gate of Horinji Temple to the west, along the ridge, the name of Mitsuiji remains on the eaves flat tiles around the west gate of Horinji Temple (this gate is a rare form of Uedomon) on the way. After passing this west gate, go to the street sandwiched between narrow private houses, and go to the left on the second third road, and there is a well of the cover shop about ２０ｍ, and an explanation board is also installed. ...
