Holy Wisdom is also known as the "wisdom of God". This magnificent church is to totally change the history of byzantine architecture. The pater patriae of Turkey later changed the church into a museum. Madonna is looking up at the dome, while two archangels of Gabriel and Michael accompany by her side. A scene of blissful, peaceful and serene paradise is presented ahead of followers.
This majestic building is one of the famous one in Istanbul. I visited the place during the winter so the weather was not that good though we could still get nice blue sky. Last year the museum has been transformed back into a mosque but still there’s museum in it that you can get into. #wintergetaway

Hagia Sophia Museum, Istanbul - Turkey: Another place that we shouldn’t miss when visiting Istanbul. The place is gorgeous and charming with beautiful architecture. This place used to be a church but turned to be a mosque and now a museum. We can go thete by Hop on Hop off bus.
The Hagia Sophia Museum was originally an Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the Byzantine Empire. Its construction began in 537 AD at the beginning of the Middle Ages and then converted into a mosque during occupation by the Ottoman Empire. It has now been secularized and converted into Turkey’s most visited museum, with preserved murals covering the plaster walls. Most have been restored to resemble their original appearance. The building is a true spectacle featuring the overlap of Christianity and Islam, and is a very special site well worth visiting.
The second floor cloister of the mosque overlooks the entire hall. Be sure to see the detailed mosaics above the gates of the grounds. The main hall of the Hagia Sophia is not to be missed to see and understand the grandeur of the entire property. Additionally, there have been altars and large discs preserved from the original church that are worth taking a look at.
