What travelers say:

It was built in the late 19th century by architect Paul Ferdinand Gross. The Redeemer Church is currently used by Lutheran groups in Arabic, German, Danish, and English. This church is also the headquarters of the Evangelical Lutheran bishops of Jordan and the Holy Land. The church was built in 1892-1898. The land was given to King William I of Prussia by Abdul Aziz I of the Ottoman Empire in 1869.
