We did the 5-day Jatbula trail with Mick Jerram from Gecko Canoeing & Trekking and it was an incredible experience. Everyday our group of six walked around 10 to 18 kilometres and then camped and swam in pristine water holes. Mick made our meals and told us about the environment and the region. Swimming each day in a secluded watery oasis was such a treat, so was gazing up at the spectacular starry skies at night. We saw ancient aboriginal rock art and listened to the birds waking up as we set out early in the morning to beat the heat. You could do this trek on your own but it's much more fun and hassle-free in a small group with an experienced and patient guide like Mick. I highly recommend this small, local trekking company.
