Great look out point in Laguna Beach, one of my favorite out of six that I sent to. Something about the ocean and cliff sides that are just so surreal!
Where to go in Orange County: Laguna Chikai Beach
1000 Steps Beach is our favorite beach in Orange County. From the entrance of the main road down the steep steps, you can see this hidden beach. Some people are basking in the sun, some are surfing, and some are playing beach volleyball... We spent a leisurely time here. In the afternoon.
Although the beach is called 1000 Steps, there are not as many steps as 1,000. Nevertheless, the process of climbing up the road from the beach is not easy.
Free parking is available on both sides of Coast Hwy at the beach entrance, but the peak hours are tight, so it is recommended to come early. If you can't find it on Coast Hwy, you can park on the nearby 8th, 9th, and 10th Ave. Pay attention to see if the stop sign has a time limit.
There is a public restroom on the beach, down the stairs to the end, but there is often a queue.
Although the beach is open to the public, the houses on the beach are privately owned, so be careful not to trespass.
Many beaches in California are legally closed at sunset, so don't stay too long after sunset.
