Chubu Temple

Chubu Monastery is located in the upper reaches of the Chubu River in the northwest of Duilongdeqing County, 60 kilometers west of Lhasa. It was established in 1189 by the first Dabao Dharma King Dusong Qianpa. It is the main monastery of the Karma Kagyu sect. land. This stele was erected in the 9th century in the period of Chizu Dezan. It is the evidence of the long history of Chubu Temple, and it is also a study of the politics and economy of the Tubo period. Rare and important historical materials of religion and culture. Walking up the 24 steps of the square is the main building of Chubu Temple, "Dukang Hall". The hall is three stories high and has a square layout. It consists of a scripture hall and a Buddhist hall. The interior of the scripture hall is gorgeously decorated, and the four walls are painted with murals such as sixteen arhats. Going up the stairs from the back of the scripture hall is the Sangye Dogon Buddha Hall. In the center of the hall are the statues of Sakyamuni, the Buddha of Infinite Life and the Living Buddha of the Sixteenth Karmapa. On both sides of the Buddhist hall are large Buddha niches with a wall, and more than a thousand Buddha statues are enshrined in the niches. The second floor of the Dukang Hall is the courtyard of the Great Scripture Hall, and to the south there is a room where the 17th Karmapa Living Buddha touched the top for worshippers. The third floor of the main hall is mainly the bedroom of the 17th Karmapa and the scripture room filled with various Buddhist classics, also known as "Bei Zhuo Kang". There are two white pagodas wrapped in gold and silver on the west side of Chubu Monastery. The front tower is a square tower with an aquarium-shaped tower body on top; the tower seat and tower body of the rear tower are both square and simple in shape. Behind the temple, there is a white building on the side of Qiongbo Mountain in Jiari Tuqie: Zhuokang, which is where the monks of Chubu Temple practice. All are places worth visiting.
