Before going to Taizhou, I read a lot of travel guides, so I already have a certain understanding of the Taizhou city wall, known as the 'Great Wall of Jiangnan'. I had a simple lunch on Ziyang Street at noon, and headed straight to Donghu Park in the sun. I bought a joint ticket for Donghu and the Great Wall on Ctrip, which was discounted. After a brief tour of Donghu, I came out of the north gate of Donghu and crossed the road to the 'Xiong Zhen Dong Nan' archway. There are 198 long and steep steps leading directly to the Lansheng Gate, but fortunately, there are several platforms in the middle where you can rest. There is also a more gentle and winding route to choose from. After the Lansheng Gate, there is a relatively flat section, but to go up to Baiyun Tower, you still need to climb, especially the 'Hundred Steps Steep' is the steepest. The rest of the way passes several enemy platforms, and the road surface is relatively flat. The best scenery is still near the fourth and third enemy platforms, with winding and changing slopes, and facing the river to the west.
