The Church of St. James was bombed in the Second World War and then resumed. In addition to its religious role, it also hosts regular concerts and art exhibitions. The nave is now full of exhibits by artist Arabella Dorman, and the Southwood Garden is next to the church.

Anglican church designed and built by Sir Christopher Wren in 1684. The church hosts regular classical music concerts and even R.E.M have played here. There's also a small outdoor antique and collectibles market, which helps the church pay for its maintenance.
The bell of St. James’ Church can be heard from a distance, giving people a very quiet and calm feeling.
