This was a drive I did by myself as I had a full free day. The trail went through lovely farmlands, many, many winery vineyards, ruins of the Dutton Hotel in an old area called Jolon, Mission Soledad, and Mission San Antonio, ending in Fort Hunter Liggett. Mission San Antonio is the 3rd Mission in California built by Fr. Serra. It is still active with Mass every Sunday. It has the best 10 room museum with a great music room. The church is lovely and is undergoing reconstruction outside but you can still go inside. Frankie who was staffing the gift shop was most cordial. The mission is also open for retreats. It is well worfh the drive out there.
