Clock Tower

The clock tower is located at the crossroads in front of the Zay Cho Market Building, Mandalay's largest. The goal is very conspicuous. It is not difficult to find that the clock tower itself has not much characteristics. It is purely a photo spot for passing by. It is recommended to see it when passing by.

The clock tower is located near the market in the city center, very conspicuous, if you pass by, you can look up, it is not recommended to go there.

Mandalay clock tower was built as a symbol of Mandalay City in 1909. It’s located in Corner of 26th St and 84th St. The England-made clock was substituted with Japan-made brand Seiko in 1985. Due to impact of weather, the 29-year-old second clock was substituted again with a new one by Mandalay City Development Committee in December 2014.The clock has three-foot diameters of surface. It cannot be searched in the market. Electrician U Ye Win imported parts of clock to make the clock tower. He made preparations for machinery, electronics and sound effects of the clock. The new clock tower has been installed with battery back-up system for its run.
