It's a tower
Poignant visit. The tower is dedicated to the fallen soldiers of several local regiments. The view from the top is interesting rather than impressive
Wasted journey
Rudely told at 2pm that it was shut as the warden had an important appointment. Wasted journey. Toilets were also locked although they did open those begrudgingly when I asked.

Fantastic tea room, dog friendly
Visited on way back from tram museum. Wonderful views, so peaceful. It’s 1.50 for cars, well worth it. We missed the sign where to pay and had to park up to find the coins. A gentleman did march over ...
