All cities in Lebanon are close to the sea. Byblos is one of the ancient Phoenician coastal city-state civilizations. Compared with Beirut, the beaches here are not as crowded as Beirut. Not on the main road of Binhai Highway, there are not so many cars, and it is relatively quiet. The beach here is not fine white sand, but rather primitive and rough with lots of gravel. Many locals come here to fish.
