Far too windy in exposed campsites - there is a reason that there are so many wind-farms in the area. Trails are not well kept - in fact, one major bridge has completely collapsed - right before a bun...
Peaceful/ great shower
Great state campground. Stayed overnight. Showers were fantastic, great pressure! Very quiet prairie like setting but plenty of shades. Enjoyed a 2mi hike loaded with flowers and birds.
Wooded Riverside State Park
This state park is located by the Des Moines River and is mostly wooded. The trails are ok but it was not anything that special. I have been to better state parks.
