based on 215 reviewsWe originally planned to spend two full days here, but due to the cancellation of the Air Madagascar flight, we ended up with only one day left. What a fulfilling day it was. Our excellent guide Ludo decided to fit the two days into one day and we saw a lot - lemurs, birds, chameleons and even a fossa (some kind of mammal). I wish I could stay here longer. Maybe we weren't here during peak season, but there were a lot of times when we were the only ones here, which was very special.

The drive from Morondava to the Kirindy forest reserve was long and grueling, but it was worth it to spend a few hours in their natural habitat and see the lemurs. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and we saw many brown and white lemurs. We were lucky to see a semi-tamed seal next to the camp. Long pants and comfortable shoes are recommended.
Kolindi Nature Reserve is a nature reserve on the island of Madagascar with rich animal resources. It has dense tropical rainforests and thousands of animals unique to Madagascar. There are hundreds of species of chameleons and various wild monkeys. You can choose to hike or boat to visit, which will definitely open your eyes.
Kolindi Nature Reserve is the most important nature reserve on the island of Madagascar. In this tropical rainforest, there are thousands of rare wild animals, many of which are unique to this island. Here you can see real chameleons, which move very slowly on the branches. You must be careful to distinguish them to find them. In addition, there are very cute tarsiers on the trees, with special small eyes, which are really super cute.
Kirindy is one of our most important destinations on this trip to Madagascar. There are many rare animals here, especially this cat. Many people come here specially to stay for a few days just to see its traces. We were very lucky to see it shortly after arriving.
In the Kolindi Nature Reserve, every path leading into the depths of the dense forest is the starting point of an unknown journey. The sun shines through the mottled shadows of the trees, bringing a luxurious tranquility, and even the sound of the wind seems to be in the unreachable distance. Only our footsteps are left, occasionally stepping on the dry fallen leaves, making a rustling sound. Kolindi is very quiet in the sunlight, but it is not dead at all.
