Lingyang Temple is located on Ganshan Mountain, Guling Town, Mashan County, Nanning City. It is the largest cave-style temple in Guangxi. Lingyang Temple was built in the Yuanfeng period of the Song Dynasty (1078-1085), and it was built by the descendant of the Sixth Patriarch, Nanhua Huiyuan. At that time, the monastery was large in scale, with more than 1,000 monks and talented people. Due to historical reasons, Lingyang Temple has undergone several ups and downs, especially in the mid-Qing Dynasty due to a fire on Guling Street, which affected Lingyang Temple and caused the temple to be destroyed. Until the spring of 1998, local believers invited Master Shi Renhuan to preside over the renovation of Lingyang Temple. In just a few years, Buddhist temples, vegetarian halls, guest halls, and dormitories have been built successively. With the increasing influence of Lingyang Temple, the existing living facilities and study conditions can no longer meet the development requirements. The monastery decided to implement renovation works. Now, 60 mu of land for the renovation project has been acquired, and it is planned to repair and build the platform corridor, Daxiong Hall, Buddhist Temple, Buddhist Culture and Education Base, Dorm, Zhaitang, Abbot Building, Library Building, Free Life Pool, Underground Parking Lot and Shangshan Highway, etc. .
The architecture is beautiful, all antique buildings, the temple is located halfway up the mountain, there are many beautiful Buddha statues
The Lingyang Temple was later rebuilt and opened to the public for free. The Daxiong Temple, the Ninth Buddha Hall, the Buddhist Cultural and Education Base, the Fa Palace, the Yufang, the Zhaitang, the abbot building and other buildings have been rebuilt, and the scale is still relatively large. You can take the bus to Guze Town in the city first, and then walk there. So the traffic is very convenient.
It is a pity that this is an ancient temple rebuilt in the 1980s. Although it is a cave-style temple, it always feels less historical. It is a good place to burn incense and worship Buddha. The corridor of more than 500 meters is its feature. The newly built mountain gate is a major feature.
Very good, I went there once near my home for the New Year.
Very beautiful, the air on the mountain is particularly good, and it is also very good to visit the temple occasionally.
