The Dark Church is located in the Goreme Open Air Museum. You need to purchase an additional ticket. The price of the ticket is 18 lire.
Like the open-air museum, photography is prohibited inside the church. The dark church is relatively well-preserved, and the frescoes inside depict biblical stories such as two church donors, the Last Supper and the birth of Jesus.
The museum's navigator is also suitable for dark churches. The church is not big, but the frescoes are still quite beautiful.
This is also a distinctive attraction during this journey, called the Dark Church, where the church is built with stone hills and has a very long history. Some of the murals on the stone walls that have been destroyed by history are no longer visible
The dark church is an old building. The lights in the church are not very bright. You can see some special fresco resources. It is also very good to visit here. You can learn about many architectural resources.
[Value for money] Very good
[Scenery] A lot of Turkish history
[Fun] What a fun mural
The dark church gets its name because it has no windows and dim light. Fortunately, because of the lack of light, the vivid colors of the murals in the cave have been preserved, including scenes of the Almighty Lord Jesus, Jesus on the cross, and betrayal by Judas. The characters in the murals are vivid and exquisite, just like a picture version. The Bible.
The dark church, one of the most famous churches in the open-air museum, is full of exquisite murals, but it is a pity that photographs are never allowed. It was originally named because of the lack of windows, and thanks to the dim light, the bright colors of the murals were preserved. Very nice place!
