Mangorei Track

A very good hiking route in the Volcano Park. The scenery is beautiful and the difficulty is not high. It is basically flat. occasionally there are up and downhill. After walking to the mountains, it is still noisy. Along the way, it is very beautiful. If you can catch the sunset, you can see the burning clouds on the sky. If you are lucky, you can see it with the stars, which means the beauty of the world.

Mangorei Track is a track that hikers yearn for! The Pouakai Mountains are part of the volcanic mountains near Mount Taranaki in Egmont National Park. There are many walking trails in the area, and because we have limited time, we chose the Mangorei track to Pouakai Lodge. 8 o'clock on time: we arrived at 8 am on Mangorei track. 5 km from here to the cabin - a gentle climb. Lots of cars have been parked next to the road, and a lovely large new parking lot and toilets are under development. The Pouakai lodge is the most popular in the park, so there are more people! Arrived on time at 9:15: We didn’t carry the package today and were lightly loaded so we arrived at the lodge at 9:15am. The path took us a short walk through farmland before the beautiful boardwalk began to enter the forest. It was a lovely path with rock steps and trees around it, easy to rise and move quickly, and it was time to stay stable. If I live in this area, this is definitely the kind of road I would hike after work. Tips: although this trail is open all year round, it is not recommended in winter and spring, the icy road is really dangerous. The best hiking season is December~April. To bring some high-calorie food, walking completely is still very physical!
