5 Fingers

After been to 5 fingers, hiking there was added to my bucket list. It is so beautiful and I can’t stop WOW on the mountain!!

Upper Traun is surrounded by mountains and waters, one side is the picturesque Lake Harstadt, the majestic Dahstadt peak, Upper Traun and Harstadt across the lake, 5 Fingers is one of the world's top ten viewing platforms, also known as the "Alpine balcony", beautiful scenery.

The platform is relatively high, so it feels very good to see the scenery above, the scenery below is unobstructed, those European-style houses look like small houses in fairy tales, very cute and cartoon.

From Hallstatt or Upper Traun, you can take the 543 bus (2.1 euro) to the Cable car, the total price of the three cable cars is 30 euros. To the ice cave, the mammoth hole visitors, get off at the first stop. The second stop is the top of the mountain of 1780 meters. Most people get off here and walk 20 minutes on the alpine platform to reach the famous five-finger observation deck. It is built on a cliff and has a bird's eye view of Hallstatt and Upper Traun. The five viewing platforms are different in design and are very creative. It should be said that this is the most wonderful alpine walk, overlooking the endless rolling Alps, the black peak is the snowy snowy glacier, the sky is high and the clouds are light, the sea is wide and the sky is really a feeling of being born horizontally. It's spectacular! Alpine platforms can be walked for a few hours, as well as the Great Shark Observation Deck, alpine ranch, rock climbing, skiing, paragliding... Sports. The top of the mountain restaurant can sit on the majestic Alps, and the price of dining is equal to the mountain. It is a good place for leisure and viewing. Ice caves and mammoth caves, known as the world's longest caves, have time to see.

Five-finger observation deck traffic: take 543 to the cable car station on the upper traun, take the first cable car to the ice cave, and walk for about 20 minutes to the end of the second cable car. The scenery is greatly affected by the weather. We went to catch up with the cloudy day. The scenery was not good. It was not as good as the next door to the top of St. Gilgen and the Winter Mountain in Salzburg. But I believe it must be great on a sunny day!
