Meeting capybaras up close was unforgettable, and I left with an otter plush as a souvenir. For lunch, I enjoyed tender Kobe beef served in a satisfying set meal. I also tried a crispy Kobe beef croquette, golden on the outside and rich inside, the perfect street snack to balance the refined beef dining. In the afternoon, I wandered the Kitano district, with its Western-style houses and quiet photogenic lanes. Later, I boarded the maroon Hankyu Railway to Osaka. By evening, I arrived at the teamLab Botanical Garden in Nagai, where glowing trees, reflections on water, and immersive sound created a dreamlike world. It's a botanical garden during the day, but at night it comes alive with an amazing light and sound show by teamLab. The feeling when you walk through it is like stepping into another world! What I love is that the art changes with real nature—wind, rain, and our movements all interact with us along the way. Wherever you walk, it's full of wow moments! The highlight is the glowing flower field and the color-changing eggs—they're stunning and perfect for photos from every angle. I recommend going in the evening when the weather is just right. It's so relaxing and enjoyable, a perfect way to end your day in Osaka!

TeamLab's outdoor art exhibition that everyone should experience is held at Nagai Park in Osaka. It is an outdoor exhibition. We think that being outdoors and at night enhances our senses even more. With the sounds, darkness, the light of the artworks, and the weather each day, everyone's experience is different. We really like it. If you want to come, book in advance. The ticket price is about 400 baht.

This building, constructed during the Showa era, blends Western Art Deco style with exquisite Eastern details, full of the modern charm of a bygone era. Standing at the entrance and looking up, the tall exterior and intricately carved facade of the Ikoma Building make one feel as if they have returned to the prosperous Osaka of the early 20th century. Entering the lobby, a strong retro atmosphere greets you, with elegant reliefs on the walls and colorful stained glass by the windows. In the morning, I joined an architectural tour and learned about the important role the Ikoma Building played in Osaka’s modern history from a professional guide. At noon, I took a break at the café inside the building, enjoying a Japanese-Western style cake and coffee. The street view outside the window exuded a strong urban vibe, creating an interesting contrast with the nostalgic indoor atmosphere. In the afternoon, I strolled around the surrounding neighborhood, feeling the vitality and diversity of Shinsaibashi, and unexpectedly discovered a Showa-era Osaka travel guide at an antique shop, adding a delightful surprise to my journey. On the second day, I chose to revisit the Ikoma Building but experienced its charm from a different perspective. In the morning, I specifically attended a photography exhibition held inside the building, showcasing many old photos featuring Osaka street scenes and the Ikoma Building, as if allowing one to see the flow of time and the city’s changes. After the exhibition, I went to the rooftop of the building, which is an open-air observation deck. Looking out, the bustling streets of Shinsaibashi stretched out before me. The gentle breeze seemed to carry memories and stories from the past. At noon, I went to a nearby Japanese-Western restaurant and savored a lunch with Showa-era flavors. The restaurant’s retro decor perfectly matched the atmosphere of the Ikoma Building. In the afternoon, I returned to the building to visit a limited-time exhibition themed around the Showa era, featuring old newspapers, advertising posters, and furniture, evoking deep emotions. As evening approached, the lights outside the building gradually lit up, and the scene where history and modernity intertwined brought a perfect conclusion to my journey.

Stepping off the train into Osaka’s summer heat, I didn’t expect to feel so alive. But within hours, I was dancing between illuminated forests, concrete minimalism, and a café that felt like stepping into a dream. On the first night, I wandered into teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka. The darkness wrapped around glowing ovoids, sculptural pillars swaying with the wind, and clusters of light that blushed when touched. The garden, once a quiet patch of Nagai Botanical Gardens, became an interactive art world under the stars. It transformed me — I chased colors. I touched light. I felt like a participant, not a spectator. Mid-trip, I boarded a train toward Hyōgo Prefecture to enter the world of Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, designed by Tadao Ando. The walls, floors, and voids whisper architecture in concrete, light, shadow. The spaces feel sacred and hushed. Walking through those galleries, I felt the weight and precision in every surface. The building itself is part of the art. Each day, Osaka revealed a new face: bustling Dōtonbori neon lanes, quiet riverside paths, small cafés tucked in herb-green alleys. I sipped matcha, tried street stalls, and listened to local chatter. I didn’t rush. I let the city lead me. On the last night, I entered A Café in the Field of the Can Can Factory by teamLab (Field of Wind, Rain and Sun). It’s not just a café — it’s a sensory installation. Light plays on surfaces, air stirs colors, architecture frames nature and color in constant dialogue. Every corner invites you to pause, reflect, take photo, linger. Nagai Botanical Garden in Osaka has been transformed into a digital art exhibition space by the teamLab team under the name “teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka,” open for viewing since July 29, 2022.  This exhibition is held only at night, using the space of Nagai Botanical Garden to display art that blends light, color, and sound with nature, giving visitors an amazing experience. To visit “teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka,” tickets can be booked in advance. Admission fees are 1,600 yen for adults, 500 yen for children, and free for children below elementary school age.  To get to Nagai Botanical Garden, you can take the Midosuji Line subway to Nagai Station and exit at number 3, where you will immediately find Nagai Park. Summer is the perfect time for a spontaneous, fresh Japanese-style trip with your significant other! 🌈 This "skewer-style" trip with my girlfriend Vira was absolutely amazing, covering everything from sunflower fields to seaside stations, from railway ruins to strawberry farms, capturing all the hidden gems of Japan~ 🌻【Shrine Sunflower Field Blast】 📍Muko Shrine (Muko City, Kyoto Prefecture) The summer-only sunflower fields are made for Instagram! The golden blooms from July to August are stunning. We recommend wearing a light-colored dress with a straw hat. The shrine’s goshuin book even has an exclusive, super cute design. 🌊【Must-Visit Beach Stations】 1️⃣ JR Shioya Station (Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture) Known as the "station closest to the sea," you can see Awaji Island right from the platform! Best to visit at sunset. There’s a seaside café inside the station that’s super romantic. 2️⃣ Old Noto Railway Iida Station Ruins (Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture) The abandoned tracks stretch straight into the Sea of Japan, accompanied by the soothing sound of shell wind chimes—super healing. 🚞【Railway Enthusiast’s Paradise】 1️⃣ Railway Museum (Saitama City) Limited edition train models plus real trains on display. Even my girlfriend said it was more fun than she expected! The second-floor railway bento exhibition will make your mouth water... 2️⃣ JR Kushimoto Station (Kushimoto Town, Wakayama Prefecture) Blue sea and sky with a red station sign. In front of the station is a popular local whale-shaped monument. June to July is the last picking season.
