first stop of our palawan journey!🏝️
Transportation:
- ✈️ took a flight from Manila (Ninoy Aquino) to Busuanga (Francisco B.Reyes) in the morning, about an hour flight
- 🚙 got a private van to Busuanga (₱2500 total for an 8 seater, price not counted by head), about a 45mins drive
- 🚤 walked from our hotel to the pier where we took a boat out (₱3500 total for 8 people maximum, price not counted by head), about 40mins boat ride to Black Island
- there are loads of other options for tours/ boat rides at the pier
- if you are travelling solo or in a small group, see if you can share a boat with other travellers to split the cost💰
Attractions:
- 🏝️ so of course there’s the beach itself, super beautiful. clear water and clean beach, not crowded either. #beachlife
- we also visited a cave where you can swim in as well
- 🦎 lizard watching was a short activity option
- entrance fee to the island wasn’t a lot (can’t remember the exact price, but it was something like ₱150 per person)
Hotel:
-🏨 booked a room at Josefina’s Inn, friendly staff and decent room. you can also rent a motorbike for ₱500 for 24 hours
Food & Restaurants
- Josefina’s has a restaurant with affordable price with a range of drinks and dishes
- would definitely recommend the pork sisig!!! #localfood
HOWEVER we didn’t stay in Busuanga for the night. we headed to Coron on another van (same price) in the evening as we couldn’t find much to do around Busuanga.

Okinawa is also a small island, black island gives me the feeling of a coastal village bar. But the scenery here is very primitive, the water is very clear, and few people are seen along the way.
We went to two islands: Black Island and Silkworm Island. The main purpose of Black Island is to snorkel and watch coral fishing. Silkworm Island has more places to play. All the facilities on the island are free, and buffet can be eaten. Then we can play golf and play some recreational projects on the sea. But the recreational projects on the sea are at our own expense. Black Island is Black Island. There are 10,000 shields in the bathroom. Ten thousand shields went into the bathroom.
We arrived on a day without sunshine and rain. Fortunately, although it rained from time to time, the island did not disappoint us at all because we enjoyed the activities on the beach. You can see the seabed with the naked eye, the water is so crystal clear and crystal clear!! This left us a great impression. Again, the toilet or bathroom facilities were poor and no shower was provided. I was a little confused as there was no electricity on this popular tourist island. Locals sell fresh water to tourists. You have to buy a bucket of water worth VND 10,000 each time you take a bath. The amount is not very large, but it is very inconvenient for tourists who want to take a bath.
The water quality of the Black Island is exceptionally clear, making it a great place for snorkeling and swimming. After the boat moored in the nearby shallow beach, the people on board jumped into the sea, playing with the fish in the sea, and enjoying the beautiful coral groves.
An island in the Palawan area, with few people on it, can be said to be unusually quiet and primitive. The scenery is very good. There is a huge karst cave which can be seen. It feels mysterious and cold inside.
