What travelers say:

If you love history this is one place to go on your list. Step back into the old world when you go to this place. in the edge close to beach this fort is over 300 years old. A small fort but very well built. Check out the paintings on the site and learn about Mactan.

Additional Information

Introduction

Fort San Pedro is located next to the port and is also known as the ancient castle of the Philippines with the Castle of San Diego in Manila, which was built when Spain first arrived in the Philippines. During World War II, the castle was used to defend against the Japanese army. The barracks used as military officers during the US military rule were now converted into school classrooms. The San Pedro Fort next to the pier was the first station in Spain to enter Cebu, which was later converted into a memorial park.
