What travelers say:

The church is not very big, but it is quite beautiful. It should have been left over from the colonial period. There are also a lot of believers here. We saw that many people did not visit during the church.

Additional Information

Sitting atop St. Paul's Hill in Malaysia's stunning A Famosa ruins, St. Paul's Church is a sight that no traveler in the country should miss. Constructed in 1521 by a Portuguese nobleman, the Church was abandoned from the mid-eighteenth century until it was discovered and excavated in the 1930's. Rather than reconstruct the Church, the Malacca Historical Society has left it in its decomposed state, creating a haunting tribute to the architects and leaders of centuries past. Various relics from the original site, including Portuguese tombstones from the 16th century cemetery, are on display within the interior of the Church.
