The newly-built Pengzhou City Library is located on the north side of Pengzhou Garden on the West Main Road. It is with Pengzhou Municipal Museum of Mass Art. It is more spacious and bright, but also quieter. Books are not many, but you can find what you need. Occasionally there are lectures and other activities.
Today, I walked into the Pengzhou Library again, and involuntarily thought of the relationship between the proletarian revolutionary Li Yimeng and the library. The library was called Li Yimeng Library. This was when Li Yimeng returned to Pengzhou in 1962 and learned that there was no library in the county at that time. The only suggestion made by the county party committee was to build a library. In 1988, the Pengxian Library was completed. After hearing the news, Li Yimeng personally wrote an inscription for the library, and donated more than 4,200 books in his collection to the library, and the Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau gave him 150,000 yuan for the donated cultural relics. The land was donated to the Education Bureau of Pengzhou City, and the "Li Yimeng Scholarship" was established.
