📍The Blue Lagoon is located on an extinct volcano near Grindavik, there are many beneficial minerals at the bottom of the hot spring pool, so the hot spring mud is good for beauty. If you are lucky enough, you can also dig into the white-hot spring mud.
👛Although the Blue Lagoon is open all year round, there are limited on-site ticket purchases and there will be insufficient tickets. Therefore, it is recommended to book tickets a few weeks in advance to ensure that you can go to the hot springs smoothly. Once you pick the ticket, you will also get some beauty samples together, which can be used after the spa.
🚐On the way to the Blue Lagoon, you will also pass by the Golden Waterfall. You can feel the differences of Golden Waterfall between summer and winter. The whole world is white. Finally, remind friends that you must keep warm if you would love to have a nice trip to Iceland!
When it comes to beautiful countries around the world, nordic countries hold a special place in my heart. Although my stay in Iceland was a short one because of business reasons, it was a life time experience that the memories remain fresh & green forever. I travelled to Reykjavik stayed there for 3 days, then travelled to even less touristy place and a sort of isolated place called Selfoss. It is more a agricultural town and the local economy bloomed because of a bridge constructed before WWII. This bridge is so important that the British troops guarded this bridge during WWII. Also it's believed that here is the first man settled in Iceland (not sure on the information credibility). Later I enjoyed the very famous geysers along with hot springs. I too booked with a tour group for Blue Lagoon day trip. Iceland is such a mesmerizing land. #urbanexplorer #leaveyourmark #nordictravel #iceland
Blue Lake Hot Springs is a major feature of Iceland. It is very special to say that the formation of the Blue Lake is actually a natural hot spring in the true sense. It is equivalent to a waste thermal pool at the Swatson Gurney geothermal power plant. The seawater absorbs heat through the underground high-heat volcanic melting rock layer, and the heated seawater is used by the power plant to generate electricity, and the waste hot water after power generation is discharged to form a hot spring.
The people in Blue Lake are very few, but the wind is still very big. I don't know what happened. It may be close to the time of closing at 12 o'clock. Actually, the water in Blue Lake is not too hot. The so-called hot springs are not worthy. We are frozen and we are straight. Indeed, as the front desk said, there were really not many people at this time, but after I got into the water, I discovered that a big reason for people is probably because the weather is too bad, and even the water is not cold. Before entering the hot spring, please remember to rinse your body and then go in.
There is a small house in the middle of the side of the Blue Lake. The house is provided with a free blue lake white mud face. The girls in the small house will warmly call you when you are close, then let your hand reach into the bucket, grab a mud and experience the white mud. The white mud contains silica, which has clean pores and can beautify the skin. After use, touch the face with your hands and have a smooth and smooth foot.
Traveling to Iceland, Blue Lake is a place to be missed. Many people go to a hot spring and rush to say goodbye. In fact, staying at a hotel there for one night can get a better experience. The
Silica Hotel is part of the Blue Lake Group and the Nordic minimalist style is comfortable and clean. The terrace of each room faces the volcanic rock tundra or lagoon. The volcanic rock is covered with delicate moss, and if you are outside the planet.
Guests have exclusive Silica Lagoon, and you can go straight to the hot springs by changing the bathrobes in the room. There will never be someone fighting for you in a bucket of white volcanic mud.
If you want to experience the lively atmosphere of the Big Blue Lake, you can get a Premium Pass at the front desk for free, walk 600 meters and cross the volcanic rock path between the lagoons.
In addition, there is a Blue Lake skincare counter in the hotel lobby, guests can try it for free, and the purchase has a special discount. I compared the price after the discount to the airport duty-free shop.
This hotel has only 35 rooms and can only be booked on the official website of Blue Lake. The nightly rate is ISK 62
Blue Lagoon is one of the country's landmark locations. Many people who come to Iceland go here for a soak in the hot springs. It is a geothermal hot spring formed by volcanic activity deep below the earth's surface. The color of the water is a brilliant blue. While soaking in the hot springs, visitors can take the opportunity to spread some mineral-rich mud on their faces for a soothing face mask. The Blue Lagoon also offers saunas and steam rooms for further relaxation. In the case of snowfall, your whole body will be kept warm by the water's embrace while crystalline snow falls all around the cerulean paradise. In any weather, a trip here is sure to be remembered forever.
