The local famous baroque-style building, come here to see, it is really pleasing to the eye, the environment is very good!
This basilica is a must see for the two Bernini angel sculptures. The angels were designed for the Ponte Sant Angelo but the pope decided they were too beautiful to leave outside in the elements. Eventually, they made their way to this church, and they are so serene and beautiful - some of Bernini's best work.
If you like Bernini, this is a must visit. Two angels, carved for the Ponte Sant'Angelo, are on either side of the alter.
The most remarkable Baroque architecture is the huge dome fresco. The vivid patterns depict religious ideas, and the two statues besides the murals are quite different. Marble-surrounded buildings give a sense of depth, although the inner arcade structure retains the most traditional color.
Sant'Andrea delle Fratte is a late Renaissance/Baroque church dedicated to St. Andrew and at one time was the church of the Scottish people in Rome (as St. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland). Part of the building was designed by the Baroque architectural genius, Borromini. Inside are some angels designed by Bernini and intended for the Ponte Sant'Angelo but now in this church and replicas are on the bridge.
