Rome is known for it's art work which exist seamlessly with everyday life. This is one of the most beautiful aspects of Rome. Definitely there are challenges involved. On September 2011, the Moro Fountain found itself under the wrath of a man and his hammer on this dark night. This deliberate destruction caused slight damage to the statue. Fortunately, this isn't the original fountain in Piazza Navona. It is a copy which was created in 1874 during the restoration and relocation process of various great statues in the Eternal City. In 1653, the original Moro Fountain was created by the artists Bernini and Mari which is securely maintained in the Villa Borghese.
