    Beautiful Falls

    Saw this beautiful waterfall by helicopter and absolutely loved it. Such a striking waterfall and well worth visiting however way you go.

    Stunning waterfall

    Did this as a day trip from Tauranga. Picked up the permit from the information centre at Kawerau. Quite a long, dusty drive along the gravel road but well worth a visit.

    Beautiful Falls And River

    It's a long drive in on gravel roads, and you need a permit ($10.00 from the Kawerau I-Site) - and yes, security patrol the forest so make sure you have one.... and the falls are beautiful. Gushing...

    A bit out of the way

    After getting a permit in town, we headed out. It wasn’t obvious how far from signs. Bottom line is 25 minute drive each way on a dirt road. Then 20 minute walk each way. If it’s been raining the fall...

    Proud of where we live. Ko Tarawera toku Awa nice place to take the family for a day out, take nice pics, stop for a swim & picnic. You can walk/run from falls to Tarawera Lake. Our Beautiful river
