Street photographs in Zagreb, Croatia. June 2019 with a group tour. When arriving in Zagreb, Croatian capital, the weather was clear. Still the sky under the blue sky and white clouds. People in the city were busy with their lives. I can see that the tourists did not surprise at all! I guess they have long seen tourists, but different skin-colored tourists. . . leisurely and slow life. . .
The town is still stunning, a former Italian town with Venice far away. It was under Italian jurisdiction until World War II, and after World War II's defeat, it belonged to Yugoslavia, and then Croatia became independent. But the official languages here are Croatia and Italy. The architecture culture here is also more Italian. Rovini's town centre is on the westernmost peninsula and should be the best sunset viewing point. It's a pity that the good weather throughout the day arrives at sunset and clouds thicken and instead fail to see the sunset. The church of St Euphemia on the top of the hill is called Rovini's star attraction. The Baroque building, built in 1736, bears witness to the prosperity and glory of Rovini. The church has a 60-meter-high bell tower built to imitate the church of St. Marks in Venice. The café bars on the cliffs of the old town are rainbow-like Italian houses behind them and the azure Adriatic in front. It's a wonderful experience to sit here and have a drink. There are countless paths in the ancient city, completely different fears of losing their way, there is only one end up, the Euphemia Church, and the next basically converge to the square. In fact, there were 7 gates and walls around the ancient city. But over time, there were only three gates left, and the most famous one was the gate of Balbi, which came out of a large square.
The ancient city itself feels not amazing, I think it is similar to the ancient cities that I visited in Spain before, so I recommend everyone to come here because there are no Usui Wusui tourists at all and rarely see Asian faces. After visiting the church under the clock tower, it took 20 kunas per person to start the tower. Steps made of planks are narrow and steep, with great clearances.
When standing on the shore under the bright blue sky and white clouds, looking at the beautiful ancient city of Rovini and the towering bell tower, the ear heard the old clock's full "squeak" sound, breathing the long-lost wet fresh sea water smell, instantly feel that forty hours of running is worth it.
