based on 34 reviewsIt's a small place with lots of fire hats, coats, old newspaper clippings on the walls, etc. The attraction is the collection of fire trucks (steam) and fire engines (mostly Seagraves). The hook and ladder truck is right out of a 1950's children's book. You can get very close to the vehicle to see all the valves and controls. And a great deal on $3.00

There are plenty of museums to visit in San Diego, but if you enjoy history, cars,or fire trucks, you should check out the San Diego Firehouse Museum. It's this brick and mortar building, which makes you feel very authentic as you're greeted with everything fire-fighting. There's gear and other memorabilia that's sometimes 100 years old! Like other places in this small area of San Diego, they pay tribute to everyone involved in firefighting including the fire marshals, chiefs, and other staff. I can imagine my nephew would also love this place, but so would my uncle.
