Located in the city center, Sanya Bay is a 22 kilometer stretch of beach. Although the sand here is not as good as in Yalong Bay, the accommodation price in this area is much cheaper than in Yalong Bay. Sanya Bay is the closest beach to the center of the city. This beach is not as popular with foreigners as Yalong Bay and Dadonghai, mainly you will see only local people on the beach. The beach is about 17 km long and it is covered with fine soft sand. The entrance to the water is shallow without rocks which is perfect for families with kids.
The artificial Phoenix Island is located on the bay and it’s connected to the land by the bridge.
There are many toilets on the beach. They are clean and can be used for changing clothes.
There are plenty of restaurants, food courts, fruit stalls and souvenir shops near the beach.
Sanya bay is located not far from the airport and it will take no more than 15 minutes to get there by taxi.
