What travelers say:

The Jing'an District in Shanghai is the old city centered on Jing'an Temple. Jing'an Temple is the oldest Buddhist temple in Shanghai. It is always very lively around Jing'an Temple. In recent decades, the traffic on the street has increased very fast, bringing a lot of noise to the street, the quiet area has become very quiet, the decibel level near Jing'an Temple is always above 70 dB of safe noise, of course, now a lot better, no need for decibel.

Additional Information

Jing'an Temple is the central attraction in Shanghai's trendy Jing'an district. The Buddhist temple complex traces its history as far back as 247 CE; however, the current structure follows a 1983 conversation back to a temple, which had ceased to exist during the Cultural Revolution. The current complex is sightly and presents a stark contrast with the forest of high-rise buildings surrounding it. The architectural style of Jing'an Temple draws on Tibetan influence to create something both classic and modern. After dark, the temple is bathed in a warm light that gives it a golden glow.
