Jing'an Temple is the central attraction in Shanghai's trendy Jing'an district. The Buddhist temple complex traces its history as far back as 247 CE; however, the current structure follows a 1983 conversation back to a temple, which had ceased to exist during the Cultural Revolution. The current complex is sightly and presents a stark contrast with the forest of high-rise buildings surrounding it.
