Shanghai Astronomical Museum is located at the top of Xiqiao Mountain in Songjiang District, Shanghai. Its predecessor was the French Catholic Jesuits built in 1900 with European architectural style of Busan Observatory, China's oldest modern observatory, in 1962 renamed Shanghai Observatory Busan Workstation, becoming an important astronomical research base.
