The ancient city of Dahao is a smallest ancient city existing in China. The ancient city of Dahao is located in Dahao District, south of Shantou City, and is the only well-preserved mini ancient city in China. Built in 1717 (56 years of Kangxi Period in Qing Dynasty), it is now a city-level cultural relics protection unit. The ancient city of Dahao is shaped rectangular. There are two city gates in east and west, "Xihao Gate" and "Dashan Gate".
