Shisheng Temple

Shisheng Temple is called Lotus Pure Land Shisheng Temple. It is also called Royal Temple because it was built by Huang Taiji in the early Qing Dynasty. It is the most famous Gelugpa temple in Northeast China. The most mysterious thing in the temple is the Dharma Protector Building, which originally enshrined a pure gold statue of Mahakala, the treasure of the temple. It was mysteriously lost in the late Republic of China and remains an unsolved mystery.

Because the Manchus believed in Lamaism, Shisheng Temple was the royal temple of the Qing Dynasty. It is a rare Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet. The Xibe family temple is also worth a visit, but unfortunately, due to the epidemic, no one is allowed to enter, the entire North Market is sparsely populated, and weekend performances have also been suspended.

Located inside the North Market, it can be considered a popular temple in Shenyang City. Every year when there is a temple fair during the Chinese New Year, there are so many people. There is also a street of snacks outside, which is worth a visit.

Shisheng Temple has been severely damaged but has been partially restored. It has been nearly 400 years old and has been rejuvenated.
